Community Involvement

Aquatic Systems is committed to being both a leader in the protection and restoration of lake, pond and wetland ecosystems; and an involved corporate citizen. We are active throughout Florida, where our associates live and work, in supporting a variety of national charities, local foundations, educational and sports groups, aquatic organizations and community clean-up initiatives.

Buddy Walk for NDSS

Aquatic Systems is proud to be a financial sponsor for and to have participated in the Buddy Walk for many years. The 2017 event was held on Sunday, October 15 at Markham Park in Sunrise, FL. The walk and subsequent 5K run began at 8:30 AM, and gratefully, right after it stopped raining.  The Pompano Beach, Florida-based lake and wetland maintenance company was a sponsor for the walk, as it was last year also. Pictured here are the company’s participants, along with Founder and CEO John Gardner.

The Buddy Walk was established by the National Down Syndrome Society in 1995 to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October. It is a walk that anyone can complete. No special training is needed. The walk is held by the Broward Gold Coast Down Syndrome Organization, and includes a light breakfast, lunch, and a bunch of fun activities such as rock climbing wall and pony rides.
