Community Involvement

Aquatic Systems is committed to being both a leader in the protection and restoration of lake, pond and wetland ecosystems; and an involved corporate citizen. We are active throughout Florida, where our associates live and work, in supporting a variety of national charities, local foundations, educational and sports groups, aquatic organizations and community clean-up initiatives.

On Saturday, January 28th, FishHawk Ranch, a 4,100-acre master-planned community located in southeast Hillsborough County held their 20th Annual 5K and Children’s Fun Run, a fundraising event to benefit 6 local schools as well as the FishHawk Road Runners Scholarship Fund.

Aquatic Systems Sun City office sponsored the event with a $500 cash donation and 1000 water bottles for the runners. Sales Manager Amanda Miller manned the water table, District Manager Josh McGarry cheered everyone on while Scott Johnson (Biologist & Tech), Anthony Flock (Asst. Step Up for Down Syndrome

Aquatic Systems is proud to be a multi-year financial sponsor of this event (previously known as the Buddy Walk). The annual event is held in October at Markham Park in Sunrise, FL. The walk and subsequent 5K run begin at 8:30 AM.

In addition to the regular sponsorship, the company covers the entrance fees for all employees and their families in the Pompano area who wish to participate. Each year at least 10 of our employees and family members show up in support of the cause. Pictured here are the company’s participants, along with Founder and CEO John Gardner.

The event was established by the National Down Syndrome Society in 1995 to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October. It is a walk that anyone can complete. No special training is needed. The walk is held by the Broward Gold Coast Down Syndrome Organization, and includes a light breakfast, lunch, and many other fun activities for the kids.
